Description
If this is your first Velomens cycling tour, I recommend reading this short introduction
about how our trips work, bicycle transportation and everyday life within the group.
By early May, Switzerland is already enjoying pleasant spring weather –
the landscape is bright green, everything is in bloom and the days are getting longer.
In the Albis, Zurich and Zug regions, daytime temperatures are usually around
+15 to +20 °C, although sunny days can be even warmer.
It is an excellent time for cycling –
the summer heat has not yet arrived, while spring is already in full bloom.
Switzerland is a true cycling country, where drivers are accustomed to cyclists
and cycling infrastructure is very well developed.
We will mostly choose smaller paved roads with little traffic.
Our routes will take us along Lakes Zurich and Zug, through green hills and small Swiss villages,
often with panoramic views of the Alps in the background.
Most of the routes will be on paved roads, so the most suitable choice will be a
road bike or a fast gravel bike.
We will spend all three nights at
Prize by Radisson, Zurich Affoltern am Albis
in the town of Affoltern am Albis.
It will be an excellent base for our cycling routes –
between Zurich and Zug, close to the Albis hills and the Swiss Alps.
We will stay in comfortable twin/double rooms,
with breakfast available at the hotel every morning.
Breakfast at the hotel.
For dinner, we can choose from restaurants in the surrounding area,
while during our rides we will stop at cafés, restaurants or shops.
We will travel in a group of 10 cyclists.
The trip will be organised and led by Krišjānis Ratiniks (Velomens).
