Krišjānis Ratiniks

I am Krišjānis Ratiniks, better known in cycling circles as Velomens. My hobby is cycling, and my greatest passion is traveling. By combining these two passions, I have discovered a wonderful way to explore, see, and experience roads and places that remain hidden from typical tourists. I offer unforgettable cycling trips, useful information, and group rides.

My passion for cycling began in childhood but developed to a more serious level during my teenage years when I started competing in my first cycling races and testing my abilities over longer distances to reach farther destinations. Over the years, I have participated in various levels of cycling competitions in Latvia, starting with SEB and VIVUS mountain bike marathons and continuing with races organized by the LRF. One of the most significant races of my life was the Transcontinental Race, where, over 10 days, I cycled through 14 European countries, visiting designated checkpoints and crossing several mountain passes. Covering 4,200 km on a road bike, I achieved a 10th place finish.

I also hold a Guinness World Record for visiting the most countries by bicycle within 24 hours. After covering 715 kilometers across Europe, I had visited 9 countries.

Some call me an adventurer, an idea generator, and a “person without borders.” Perhaps I am a little of all these things or even much more, but my experience of traveling through 62 countries, competing in cycling races for 14 years, and organizing and leading events and trips is what I want to share and invite you to discover new horizons together! A natural continuation of my activities was founding SIA Velomens in 2019, which takes you on trips, organizes Veloreality, and invites you to group rides. Currently, at least 12 international cycling trips are organized and led annually, covering at least 10,000 km. Together with cycling events in Latvia, more than 350 cyclists are delighted each year.
